Center for Chinese Language and Culture initiated a programme called „Heading to the East“ which can help you experience Chinese culture and learn Chinese language by staying in China for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months with free accommodation and food in a Chinese family, monthly pocket money, free Mandarin language course and bonus upon your successful program completion.
The aim of this project is to give young people from Balkans a chance to learn Chinese language and let them meet the fascinating, more than 5,000 years old, Chinese culture. With this project you can enrich your life experience, meet new people and learn another foreign language.
We accept your applications all year round, and the number of places is limited.

Here are application requirements:
- Candidates aged 20-29
- Secondary school or college/university completed
- High level of English
- Motivated people who are interested in Chinese culture
- Flexible and sociable people
- People open for meeting new cultures and integrating into new environment
- People who love spending time with children
- Good overall health condition
For our applicants, we have provided:
- 3, 6, 9 or 12-month long stay in China
- Reception at the airport
- Orientation training upon arrival
- Free transport to your accommodation place
- Free accommodation with Chinese family
- Free food, three meals per day
- Free Mandarin language course
- Minimum 150$ pocket money per month
- Upon successful program completion, you get a bonus which can cover your expenses for your return flight ticket (partly or even in total), depending on the duration of your stay in China
- 24/7 support in China
Candidates’ obligations are to spend time with the youngest member of the family in China, organise various activities, talk to them in English and help the family with housework. During this project it is strongly prohibited to have any additional job!
